LAHORE: Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit (PRU) of Lahore Police, in a crackdown on criminals, arrested a number of accused and seized arms and drugs.
SP Dolphin Squad Bilal Zafar while giving details of the weekly performance of both wings said that Dolphins Squad and PRU seized 19 pistols, one rifle, 46 magazine and bullets. He said narcotics, including 03kg Charas and 73 litre liquor, were also seized from the arrested accused.
Dolphins and PRU also extended help to more than 1,254 people on different roads of the City. They checked 1,461 vehicles, more than 115,000 thousands motorbikes and more than 71,000 people. As many as 25,627 motorbikes and three other vehicles were impounded over incomplete documents. Dolphins and PRU wings showed immediate response to all the 1496 calls received on helpline 15. One car, 51 bikes, 14 mobile phones and Rs338,000 were recovered from the accused. They arrested 10 persons for wheelie, 44 for kite flying and two for violating Fire Arms Act, the SP said.
