LAHORE: The Punjab Police spokeswoman has said the media reports regarding closing down of Homicide Units in Punjab Police are baseless. He said the units have not been closed down but as per the standing order of IG Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi, they will be made more effective and will be extended from the circle level to the police station level. Officers in police stations are being provided homicide kits in this regard. By the help of homicide units in police stations, murder cases will be resolved quickly and it will also reduce burden on judiciary.
