IGP Punjab directed all SP complaints to resolve all complaints within one week

To ensure timely provision of justice to public and to reduce the burden of unnecessary litigation, Inspector General Police, Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi appointed District Complaint officers across Punjab. These officers are helping people to solve their matters saving precious time and money.

The appointment of District Complaints Officers under CrPc 22-A/22-B will be helpful in preventing the registration of false FIRs. With the assistance of SP complaints, cases will be registered only on the basis of strong evidences and a proper inquiry. It will reduce the number of false FIRs against innocent citizens and will also decrease incidents of abuse of power or high handedness at Police Station level.

From all districts of Punjab, in last 8 weeks only 1021 cases have been registered regarding property issues in district complaint office, among these 555 are nominated whereas 466 are against unidentified culprits.

It is worth mentioning here that Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan had constituted a police reforms committee in 2018 which submitted its recommendations in a high level judiciary meeting regarding police reforms last month, it was revealed that lot of cases are about complaints of power abuse and negligence of police. To mitigate this situation and to ensure the registration of cases it was decided to appoint DSP/ SP rank officers with high integrity in all districts of Punjab so that they may resolve the issues of public with merit and transparency. It will not only save precious time of courts but also provide cheap and timely justice to public without delay.

Following are the name and districts of officers appointed in this regard, Athar Waheed, Lahore, Saleem Khan Warraich, Sheikhupura, Moaz Zafar, Kasur, Hassan Afzal, Nankana Sahib, Waqar Shoaib Anwar, Gujranwala, Amjad Mehmood Qureshi, Gujarat, Syed Aun Muhammad, Sialkot, Saira Bano, Narowal, Tahir Majid Khan, Mandi Bahawaluddin, Mohammad Khalid, Hafizabad, Syed Ali Akbar Shah, Rawalpindi, Shahid Siddiqui, Jhelum, Azhar Shabir Khan, Atak, Asar Ali Chakwal, Muhammad Usman, Sargodha, Nighat Firdous, Khushab, Saeedullah Khan, Manawali, Muhammad Akram Khan Niaz, Bhakar, Syed Nadeem Abbas, Faisalabad, Muhammad Imtiaz Mahmood, Jhang, Mumtaz Sahrai, Chinniot , Farooq Ahmed Hundal, Toba Tek Singh, Shahida Naureen, Sahiwal, Shakir Ahmed Shahid, Okara, Syed Muhamad Abbas, Pakpattan, Tauseef Haider, Multan, Faiz Ahmad, Khanewal, Jalil Imran Khan, Vehari, Muhammad Azeem, Lodhran, Mohammad Salim Khan Nazi, Bahawalpur, Naeem Ul Hassan, Bhawalnagar, Muhammad Ashraf, Rahim Yar Khan, Tahir Mustafa, Dera Ghazi Khan, Ghulam Mustafa Pahore, Muzaffargarh, Ejaz Ahmad, Layyah and Mujahid Iqbal, Rajanpur.
