Elite Force martyrs paid tribute

LAHORE: A passing-out parade of 20th batch of basic elite course was held at Elite Police Training Centre Bedian here on Monday.

Punjab IGP Amjad Javed Saleemi and other senior officers attended the ceremony. Sacrifice of lives of more than 1,400 martyrs proves that elite police force is serving its duties with honesty, diligence and hard work. By the grace of Allah Almighty and the sacrifices of force, the people of Punjab have got rid of monster of terrorism and leading their lives without any fear. We have vowed to clean the province from crimes and terrorist activities and will make all out efforts to serve our duties in this regard, said IGP Amjad Javed Saleemi during his address to passing-out parade. Additional IG Training Tariq Masood Yaseen, Additional IG Elite Police Force Shahid Haneef, CCPO Basheer Ahmad Nasir, Additional IG CTD Rai Muhammad Tahir, Additional IG Safe City Authority, Ali Amir Malik, Commandant Police Training College Lahore Mirza Faran Baig, Commandant Elite Police Training School, Col retired Pervez Iqbal along with other senior officers were present. A total 976 officials passed out from the course. Among them 125 belong to Prison Police whereas 851 are from Punjab Police.

The course started in 2018 having six months training period. The IG added that these passed-out officials have been trained under the supervision of expert instructors of SSG and officers of elite police. “They have also been trained with modern courses in order to counter terrorism. They will not only retaliate against terrorism but also play their role in countering land mafia, murder, sectarian violence and other heinous crimes in society. Protection of lives and properties of people is our top priority because you will find yourself among public after this day and will use the authority delegated by the state to you for the safety and survival of people and maintenance of law and order and if this authority is misused then it will be an act of dishonesty. I also want to clear that there is no place in Punjab police for power abusers and dishonest officers and officials, the IGP said.

TRANSFER: IGP Amjad Javed Saleemi has issued transfer/posting orders of two police officers. AIG Procurement, Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani, is transferred and posted as DPO Kasur, while DPO Kasur, Muhammad Shehzad Asif Khan is transferred and posted against a vacant post as AIG Finance, CPO Punjab, Lahore, with immediate effect.

ARRESTED: Police arrested an accused in child abuse case near Taunsa in DG Khan. On the notice of IG Amjad Javed Saleemi, DPO, Dera Ghazi Khan, Atif Nazeer submitted a report of the incident to the IG. The IG had sought the report of incident of sexual abuse with a seven-year old child and directed a strict action against the culprits. According to the report, the accused and the victim are relatives and neighbours. A case was registered by Wahwa police immediately after the incident. DPO Atif Nazeer formed a committee under DSP, Taunsa, who arrested the accused within twenty four hours from Dera Ismail Khan.

OUTLAWS: Sadr Division police in its crackdown on criminals arrested as many as 101 criminals and recovered 15 pistols, 01 gun, 140 bullets, more than 12-kg charas and 306 litres of liquor.

SP Sadr Division Syed Ali had directed the DSPs and SHOs concerned to take strict action against criminal gangs. Police busted two gangs and arrested its six members alongwith recoveries worth 05 lakh rupees from them. Moreover 05 Proclaimed Offenders of A&B categories in cases of dacoity, theft, cheque dishonour, fraud and other crimes were arrested. Sadr Division Police also arrested 28 criminals for violating kite flying and rental acts.
