IG Punjab Cap (R) Arif Nawaz Khan visited Safe City Head office Qurban Lines
Officers were directed to further improve the working of Safe City Project
Inspector General Police Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan, said that Safe City Project is a masterwork of latest technology, latest surveillance cameras are proving very helpful in controlling the street crime, to improve traffic management and situation of law and order.
He further said that to protect the lives and properties of citizens monitoring should be further improved at the entry and exit points of city along with important roads and places. He also directed to start an awareness campaign regarding road safety, unnecessary blockage of roads and traffic management. He expressed these views while issuing directions to officers at a high level meeting held today at Safe City IC3. MD Safe City Authority Ali Amir Malik, CCPO Lahore BA Nasir, DIG Operations Lahore Waqas Nazir, Chief Admin Officer Kamran Khan, CTO Lahore Captain (R) Liaqat Ali Malik, Chief Operating Officer Akbar Nasir Khan, SSP Investigation Lahore Zeeshan Asghar along with other senior officers attended the meeting.
During meeting MD Safe City Ali Amir Malik briefed IGP about the working of IC3 that camera installed at roads has effectively controlled traffic mismanagement and accidents by E Challans and also played a pivotal role in identification of the culprits involved in high profile crimes including terrorism. IG Punjab further directed that to improve the police performance patrolling forces, Dolphin, PERU, and officials deputed at pickets should also be monitored and in emergency monitoring officers should update field officers about every detail. At this occasion IG Punjab also viewed the video feed from cameras installed at important points.
IG Punjab directed the officers that to avoid the unnecessary road pickets and check points and to arrest the culprits involved in road snatching, theft, and dacoity patrolling should be further improved with the help of Safe City Cameras. He further said that it is the responsibility of all the police officers and officials that while performing their official duties convenience of citizens should be specially focused. In meeting IGP was also updated on the latest development in different under completion Safe City Project in other cities of Punjab.
