Crackdown against criminal and anti-social elements is being carried out in all districts across the province

Following the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab (R) Arif Nawaz Khan a crackdown against criminal and anti-social elements is being carried out in all districts across the province, Gujrat Police in this regard apprehended a gang involved in Motorcycle theft and recovered 15 Motorcycles from their possession and returned them back to their actual owners.

According to the details arrested culprit Muhammad Ayub disclosed during the investigation that he and his confidant Hazrat Khan use to stole new Motorcycles from shopping centres and plazas. He further told about their modus operandi that he use to keep an eye on the victim/ owner of the motorcycle in shopping plaza and meanwhile Hazrat Khan stole the bike from parking. Culprit further disclosed that he had sold the stolen bikes in Peshawar in Rs 35/40 Thousand, to take these bikes to Peshawar Culprit travelled through GT Road, replacing the Number Plates of the stolen bike with the original Number Plates of his own Motorcycle. To arrest the gang DPO Gujrat Syed Ali Mohsin constituted special teams under the supervision of DSP City Circle Raza Hasnain Awan, the teams worked day and night and by using the latest technology, traced the gang within a month. On arresting the culprits and retrieving stolen Motorcycles DPO Syed Ali Mohsin has rewarded the team with Cash Prize and Commendation Certificates.
