142 accused including 68 POs arrested in chiniot during two weeks

As per orders of Inspector General of Police Punjab captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan, a crackdown against anti-social elements and criminals is underway speedily and legal proceedings are being done after arresting drugs peddlers and proclaimed offenders across the province. DPO Chiniot Muhammad Anwar Khaitran led district police against criminals during two weeks and arrested 142 accused along with 68 proclaimed offenders with illegal weapons and drugs. According to the details during the crackdown against proclaimed offenders, drugs peddlers and having illegal weapons, around 68 proclaimed offenders have been arrested among them 10 proclaimed offenders are of A category, 43 offenders are of B category and 15 are absconders of courts. Likewise taking action against drug peddlers 29 accused have been arrested after registering 21 cases against them. 4-kilo chars, 634-gram heroin, 968-litre alcohol along with 4 alcohol making kilns with other articles have been recovered from these drugs peddlers whereas 16 accused have been arrested for having 10 pistols, 2 guns, 3 rifles, 01 revolver and 56 bullets. Police also arrested six accused in violation of amplifier act whereas 5 persons have been arrested for providing shelter to the most wanted offenders. Similarly, during action against the gamblers, 18 accused have been arrested after registering 03 cases and gambling money has also been recovered. Theft and dacoity money in millions have been recovered. In addition to it 19 search operations have been conducted in different areas of all districts in which 752 individuals have been checked physically and on biometric basis.

DPO Chiniot said that as per given orders and SOP of IG Punjab captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan, search operations and checking are going on without any interruption and district police has full public support and cooperation in this regard. He further said that all senior officers are present in the field in order to make successful crackdown against proclaimed offenders and drug peddlers and I myself is monitoring the teams of the crackdown.  It is also being cared that no law abiding citizen may face problem of any kind during this operation.
