IG Punjab presided RPOs & DPOs conference at CPO

IG Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan presided RPOs & DPOs conference at Central Police Office.

Listing Top 20 criminals and anti-social elements from every district, should be apprehended by 5th June.

All RPOs and DPOs should personally monitor security duty and security plan of Churches.

During Ramzan around 80 thousand police officers, officials and volunteers will perform security duty at the 32585 Mosques and Imambargah across Punjab.

Inspector General Police Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan said that my favorites are only those officers who will serve the public, upholding the rule of law and apprehend the culprits responsible of causing trouble to the public, while directing the officers he said that from every district a list of top 20 criminal and anti-social elements should be prepared apprehending them by 5th June and a report regarding this should be shared with Central Police Office. He said that I am myself monitoring the crime situation in all districts of Punjab so an indiscriminate action will be taken if any of contrary to the facts report is shared with CPO. He further directed to beef up the security of all educational institutes and worship places across Punjab including churches on priority basis and RPOs and DPOs monitor the security plan and security duty personally. He further said that every officer should ensure his availability in the office during office hours emphasizing easy access for citizens and eliminating “parchi” culture. Any officer found guilty of delaying the action on public complaints will be held responsible and will also face departmental action if his negligence is proved. He further said that without any leniency action will also be taken against such DPO s who are not taking action against the relevant SHO or Circle Officer for delaying the registration of FIR. He further said that a stern and swift action should be taken against the supporters or culprits of criminal elements in police uniform. He said that entry and exit point check posts at all districts should be removed immediately, starting snap checking / mobile checking. He expressed these views while presiding a high-level meeting at Central Police office, at this occasion Addl: IGP Training Punjab, Tariq Masood Yasin, Addl: IGP  Operations Punjab Inam Ghani, Addl: IGP  Welfare & Finance Sardar Ali Khan, Addl: IGP  PHP Manzoor Sarwar Chaudhary, Addl: IGP  Investigation Punjab Abubakar Khudabaksh, Addl: IGP Elite Police Force Shahid Hanif, CCPO Lahore BA Nasir, Addl: IGP  Logistics & Procurement Ghulam Rasool Zahid, Commandant PC, Kunwar Shahrukh along with senior officers from CPO and all RPOs, CPOs  and DPOs from throughout province were present.

During the meeting IG Punjab issued important orders regarding departmental discipline, management and security during the holy month of Ramzan, to all RPOs CPOs & DPOs from throughout Punjab. At this occasion Additional IG Operations Inam Ghani Briefed IG Punjab that utilizing all the available resources a comprehensive security plan has been devised and during Ramzan at 32585 Mosques and Imambargahs of the province almost 80 thousand police officers, officials and volunteers will perform security duty, IG Punjab directed to ensure the security of citizens at all costs during Ramzan and directed all DPOs to visit and monitor personally the security of Mosques, Imam Bargahs, Ramzan Bazars and other important buildings and markets. He emphasised to gear up the search, sweep, combing and intelligence based operations in the vicinity of all worship places. He further said that checking should be more thorough at the entry and exit points of the city and during Fajar and Taraveh Prayer additional security should be provided to the sensitive worship places also patrolling should be further improved.

Furthermore, during meeting all RPOs gave a detailed briefing about the crime situation in their respective regions, the performance of District Complaint Officers and other IT projects including the front desk. IGP emphasized to gear up the campaign against string and kite manufacturers and flying and also against the aerial firing, violation of loudspeaker act drug peddlers especially against big drug dealers so that rule of law and protection of the wealth and lives of the public can be ensured.

He said that zero tolerance should be shown to the responsible of death in police custody, torture and flee of culprits also in case of flawed investigation or distortion of the facts, a strict departmental and legal action should be taken against the relevant investigation officer. He further said that all checkpoints other than at the entry and exit points of the city should be removed immediately, starting snap checking. Special teams of Logistics Branch and Internal Accountability Branch should immediately start touring all the districts to check and compile a report of police stock.
