IG Punjab issued orders to RPOs and DPOs on the complaints.

Officials and officers responsible for delayed action on citizen complaints deserve no leniency. IG Punjab

Inspector General Police Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan said that protection of lives and properties of public and speedy redressal of their complaints is priority of Punjab Police, so all RPO, s and DPO, s should hold Open courts at different places and Police Stations in their respective districts ensuring all possible measures for the timely redressal of public complaints. He further said that officials and officers responsible for delayed action on public complaints deserve no leniency and I will take indiscriminate action on any such complaint. He also directed all DPO; s to submit weekly reports of the complaints received in Open Courts and actions taken on them regularly to CPO. He directed DPO Muzafargarh, Sargodha, Chakwal and Jhang to address the problems of citizens at earliest as there is no second option available to police force other than to resolve public complaints speedily so all district officers should ensure resolution of public issues locally in their personal supervision taking timely and effective measures. He expressed these views during an open court at CPO while issuing directions to officers. During the open court IG Punjab personally heard the complaints of senior citizens, women and male complainants from different districts and issued directions on the spot for the redressal of the complaints.

IG Punjab issued directions on the application of citizen Ghulam Rasool to DSP Arifwala that he should come IG Office with record and explain the reason that why the challan of the complainant’s case is not completed yet. On the application of Azra Bibi IGP issued directions to the DPO Muzafaragarh to arrest the culprits within 48 hours while on the complaint of Sabra Bibi IGP showed displeasure on the delay in action and directed DIG Investigation Lahore to check case record and present a report to CPO within 24 hours he also directed to take immediate action against the culprits. IG Punjab also issued directions on telephone to the DPOs of Kasur, Chakwal and Jhang to share report with CPO after speedy redressal of complainants. IG Punjab issued directions to officers that duty of police is to ensure provision of every possible relief to the citizens so a strict departmental action will be taken against the officials and officers who found guilty of delaying the action on complaints and causing trouble and botherance for the citizens. He also directed DIG Internal Accountability to collect feedback from the citizens appearing in open courts of RPOs and DPOs and the report about officers & Officials not taking interest in resolving public complaints should be submitted to him personally. In the open court DIG IAB Ahsan Younas and AIG Complaints Zahid Nawaz Marwat along with the staff of 8787 IGP Complaint Centre were also present.
