Five held for bid to blow up track

DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Rajanpur, on Thursday foiled a bid to blow up the railway track in Umer Kot police area in Rujhan tehsil by defusing an explosive device attached with the track and arrested five suspects along with their weapons.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Kaiwan Kareem Abbasi told Dawn the CTD, with the help of police, had carried out the intelligence-based operation and nabbed five suspected militants along with their weapons.

The suspects were identified as Hussain Bakhsh, Rehm Ali, Bakhsh Ali, Mujahid Din and Balach. An amount of Rs90,000 and two pistols were also recovered from the suspects.

The CTD defused and recovered six kilo explosive material attached with railway track in Mauza Gayamal.
