A detailed visit schedule of Mobile Khidmat Markaz in all districts of the province should be issued
DPO will be held directly accountable in case of any leniency or delay in cases of domestic violence, honour killing, acid throwing and rape.
Completion of cleanliness and record completion at police stations should be ensured within a month: IG Punjab
Inspector General Police, Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan said that detailed visit schedule of Mobile Khidmat Markaz in all districts of the province should be issued and also to ensure advertisement of schedule, place and route of visit so that maximum no of citizen can benefit from the police services in their vicinity. He further said that in crimes against women especially domestic violence, honour killing, acid throwing and rape, no carelessness or delay in the arrest of culprits will be tolerated and officials and officers guilty of delaying the police action will be held directly accountable along with relevant DPO. He further directed RPOs and DPOs for timely action in crimes against women and in such cases aspects of psychological, medical and legal aid should also be considered. He further said that to further improve the working conditions of force and Police Stations is among the top priorities of department so all DPOs should take personal interest in improving their Police Stations and for any help in this regard CPO could be contacted. He expressed these views while issuing directions to the officers during a video link conference of RPO,s & DPO,s held today at Central Police Office. During Conference issues like Police Station reforms, controlling gender based crimes and challenges to the force were discussed at length.
During meeting DIG IAB Ahsan Younas briefed IG Punjab about the Police stations reforms while AIG Gender Crime Maria Mehmood briefed about the situation of Gender based crimes in province and police initiatives to stop them. IG Punjab directed RPO,s and DPO,s to ensure steps to stop gender based crimes and to utilize all available resources to arrest the culprits involved in such crimes and to get the criminals prosecuted by using latest technology and scientific investigative methods. He further said that to improve the situation of police stations SOP,s issued from IG office should be strictly followed and a report about the completion of cleanliness and record completion of the police stations should be shared with CPO within a month. He further added that citizens visiting police stations should be dealt congenially and a strict departmental action against involved officials should be ensured if anyone found guilty of misbehaving with public. He further said that Mobile Khidmat Makraz is an exemplary project of public service delivery which should be extensively advertised. During meeting Addl IG Establishment Capt (R) Ahmad Latif, Addl IG Discipline and Inspection Azhar Hameed Khokhar, Addl IG Operations Inam Ghani, Addl IG welfare and Finance Rao Sardar, Addl IG Logistics and Procurement Ghulam Rasool Zahid, Addl IG IAB Zulfiqar Hameed, DIG IAB Ahsan Younas, DIG Logistics Rai Babar Saeed, AIG Operations Imran Kishwar, AIG Gender Crime Maria Mehmood along with other officers were present while from all RPO,s and DPO,s participated through video link.
