IG Punjab Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan presided a high level meeting at Central Police Office
IG Punjab expressed his displeasure on the issue of overloading accused persons in police van and cleanliness situation in police stations of Lahore
A swift action against the officers responsible of negligence in action against drug peddlers and land grabbers
Inspector General Police Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan directed CCPO Lahore, RPOs & DPOs and SPs to surprise visit the police stations under their administration and during visits while checking staff attendance and performance of the staff they should also brief them to further improve their performance. IG Punjab while showing great displeasure over the incident of overloading accused persons in police van and cleanliness situation in police stations of Lahore said that a departmental action without any delay and leniency should be taken against the responsible of such incidents of mismanagement. He further said that cleanliness and paint work in police stations across province should be completed by 1st September. He further added that after 1st September I will personally surprise visit different police stations across Punjab and especially in Lahore and in case there is no record found about the visit of officers for inspection the relevant officers will be held accountable. He further directed to ensure all staff attendance at police stations. He expressed these views while issuing directions to the officers during a high level meeting under his chair at Central Police Office today.
IG Punjab further directed the officers to write down their visit details in record book and officers should not give any other duty to the officials posted at police stations. He further directed to speed up the crackdown against the drug peddlers who are spoiling the youth and weekly report of the crackdown should also be shared with Central Police Office. He also added that land grabbers and their supporting elements deserve no leniency and officers delaying action against land grabbers and their supporters will also face action. IG Punjab emphasized that to get better performance from the police station staff is responsibility of senior officers so all officers should ensure a weekly meeting of operations and investigation branches to encourage the performing staff and to take action against the officials found guilty of carelessness and irresponsible behaviour. During meeting Addl IG Operations Inam Ghani, CCPO Lahore BA Nasir, DIG Operations Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, DIG Investigation Inam Waheed Khan and other senior officers were present.
