Special campaign against substandard school college student transport vans on the directions of IG Punjab Captain (retired) Arif Nawaz Khan

Joint teams formed across Punjab in collaboration with Transport Department, Regional Transport Authority, and Motor Transport Examiner.

Inspector General Police Punjab Captain (retired) Arif Nawaz Khan directed Addl IG Traffic Police Punjab Muhammad Farooq Mazhar to start a two week-long special campaign against the substandard transport being used for the commute of students to educational institutes to secure them from accidents. The campaign will continue till 26th Sep starting from 12th September.  Joint teams formed across Punjab in collaboration with Transport Department, Regional Transport Authority, and Motor Transport Examiner to successfully implement the campaign. These teams will inspect vehicles across all districts of Punjab and FIR will be registered against unlicensed, unauthorized and substandard vehicles. During campaign school, administration and local administration will also be sensitized about traffic laws, and hazards/accidents involved in the use of substandard vehicles. Traffic Police officers will also give awareness to students, their parents, school teachers’ drivers of motorcycle rickshaws and school vans so that the lives of students and other citizens can be protected. Strict legal action would be taken against the reckless drivers ensuring that only licence holder trained drivers and vans in good condition are being used to transport the students.
