LAHORE: A woman allegedly detained by her brothers illegally at their home in Millat Park was rescued by the police on Wednesday in poor health condition.
Identified as Roshan Ara (25), the woman was said to be a masters degree holder and detained for the last few years.
A police official said the woman was recovered in bad health by unlocking a room of the filthy house.
He said there were conflicting stories of keeping her in illegal detention by her brothers, including Muqarram and Amir, who were taken into custody by police.
Some relatives claimed that the brothers detained her following property issues while others said they did this on the advice of a faith healer. She was sent to the Mental Hospital for her psychological assessment for living in a room for years.
He said the police acted when some neighbours complained to them about the inhuman act of the suspects.
Police have registered a case against them. Further investigation is under way.
