Crackdown against the criminal elements by Jehlum Police, during November 121 criminals including proclaimed offenders were arrested

A large amount of drugs and unlicensed weapons were also recovered from the arrested criminals

Action against the anti-social elements should be speeded up to protect the lives and properties of the public: IG Punjab

Timely initiatives in accordance with the Community and Smart Policing standards should be ensured to further improve the public service delivery.

Inspector General Police Punjab Shoaib Dastagir directed all RPOs and DPOs to submit the police action details against the criminal and anti social elements, intelligence based operation must also be speeded up to protect the lives and properties of citizens. He further directed to review the security plan of sensitive installations, religious places, educational institutes and public places ensuring a briefing to the security duty officials regarding sensitivity and challenges of the duty. In this regard, DPO Jehlum Syed Hammad Abid while sharing the progress of last month shared that police teams are working day and night to eliminate drugs, anti-social elements and to improve the public service delivery projects. He further shared that in different actions during last month Jehlum police arrested 54 proclaimed offenders and 67 other criminals recovering a large amount of drugs and unlicensed weapons. He further said that in action against drug peddlers 39 cases were registered and 41 accused arrested while 2.370 KG heroine, 18.100 KG Charas, 82 Bottles liquor were recovered, also 26 accused were arrested on possession of unlicensed weapon and 2 rifles 3 guns 18 pistols 135 bullets and one revolver were recovered, on the violation of tenant registeration act 2 FIR were registered and 6 accused were arrested while 2 accused were arrested due to open sale of petrol against the law and stolen goods of total value of Rs.1571650 were also recovered. Snipe checking and search operations are also being conducted across the district to uphold the rule of law and to uproot the criminal elements.
