A plenary session was held under the leadership of IG Punjab Shoaib Dastagir at Central Police Office.

In this meeting, arrival of Prime Minister Of Pakistan and preparation regarding inauguration of Special Initiative Police Stations Projects were examined.

29 police stations of different districts have been upgraded as Special Initiative Model Police Stations.

The model police station is based upon modern technology and smart working ideas and will bring a significant role in change of thana culture. IG Punjab.

Inspector General Police Punjab Shoaib Dastagir said that as per vision of Prime Minister Pakistan facilitation to citizens and protection of their wealth and lives is among top priorities of Punjab Police and in this regard modern technology and smart ideas based model police stations (SPECIAL INITIATIVE OF POLICE STATIONS, SIPS) will provide the citizens quick relief and will change the thana culture and maintain and strengthen the trust level between public and police. He further said that in police department, police station has a fundamental position within department and steps will be taken to improve the working of Police stations. He further added that by special initiative project, smart and policing system will protect the wealth and lives of people by which the law abiding citizens will not be afraid while coming to police stations. He further said that 50 police stations are being upgraded with special initiative model police stations in different districts of all the ranges and the said project will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran khan by inaugurating city police station Mianwali on Saturday tomorrow. These views were expressed by him while presiding and giving directions to officers in the session at Central Police Office. During meeting IGP Punjab also viewed special initiative Model Police Stations of different districts via video link whereas, the preparations for arrival of Prime Minister to Mianwali and inauguration ceremony of special initiative police stations project were also examined.

AIG development Hassan Iqbal told while briefing on model police stations that in the first phase, 29 police stations including Mianwali district have been upgraded to special initiative police stations and the basic objective of this project is to ensure easy and quick provision of facilities to the citizens. He moreover said that the building of model police stations has been divided into two parts with effective use of modern technology. In the front end, friendly environment with modern technology police counters and waiting rooms have been established where khidmat markaz type counters will provide services and facilities to the citizens through token system and DRC / committee room, SHO room and front desks have also been established in front part of Police stations whereas rooms of officers regarding police station operations like moharrir rooms, room of investigation officers, monitoring and operations room and lockups are at the back of police stations where police will conduct investigations inquiries and other routine work. He further said that with the issuance of token system at front end culture of reference VIP system and sifarish will be ended and all system will work meritoriously. During meeting IGP Punjab Shoaib Dastagir further directed to complete under process 21 Special Inititiative Police Stations in other districts to within given dead line. He further directed to deal citizens visiting police stations congenialy and DPOs should also personally monitor and inspect police stations for their better working. During meeting Addl: IGP Logistics, Ghulam Rasul Zahid, DIG Logistics, Capt (R) Faisal Ali Rana, DIG IT, Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, AIG Operations, Imran Kishwar, AIG Development Hassan Iqbal and other senior police officers were also present in the meeting.
