Inspector General Punjab Shoaib Dastagir said that to build a public-friendly and professionally competent Punjab Police according to the parameters of smart and community policing is my mission and in this regard, all officers and officials should perform with their full capacity and honesty to not only to timely resolve the complaints of public but also to speed up the crackdown against criminal elements. He further directed senior officers to visit and inspect Police Stations to improve their working, extending possible cooperation and guidance to improve their performance. He warned all officers and officials involved in corruption trespassing powers, carelessness and misbehave with the public to improve their behaviour otherwise they will not only removed from field posting but will also face strict departmental action under internal accountability system. He said that this is my message to the whole force that only those will earn departmental respect who are known for their integrity honesty and hard work, in my team, there is no place for the careless, trespassers of power.  He further directed efficient monitoring of Model Police Stations, Police Khidmat Marakaz and other initiatives of modern policing and also to further, improve their working in the light of feedback from citizens because there is no other way to win the trust of the public. He emphasised senior officers to ensure that citizens visiting police stations are being dealt congenially and every possible God-fearing attempt should be made to resolve their complaint and to purge the society from criminal and anti-social elements meritoriously without any pressure or incentive. He further said that SDPOs should start a crackdown against the proclaimed offenders land grabbers and drug peddlers and report of these actions should be shared regularly with Central Police Office. He expressed these views while addressing officers at Sahiwal Police Lines. At his occasion RPO sahiwal Humayun Bashir Tarar, DPO Sahiwal Capt R Muhamad Ali Zia , DPO Pakpattan Sahibzada Umer Bilal, DPO Okara Umer Saeed Malik, all regional SP Investigations, SP Special Branch SDPOs and SHOs were present.

Upon reaching Sahiwal IG was presented the salutation by an active squad of police after which IG Punjab laid a floral wreath on Yadgar E Shuhada and offered Fateha. In Darbar RPO Sahiwal briefed IGP about the performance of Sahiwal region that according to the policy guideline issued by the Central Police Office police teams are endeavouring to address the public complaints and to arrest the criminal elements while special heed is being paid on public dealing for change in Thana Culture. He further shared that so far from regional Training Centre Sahiwal 1300 officials have been successfully trained as per IG,s vision while to ensure discipline every week orderly room is also conducted.

IG Punjab addressing officers said that constabulary is the face of Punjab police, they deal with the public on roads and other postings so to improve the performance of constables’ officers should play model leadership role, by giving them briefings on professional conduct discipline, and modern policing. He further said that appreciation by PM Pakistan is a matter of great honour but it has also increased our responsibilities so now we need to work with more commitment and hard work to facilitate the public and purge the society from criminal elements. He further said that there should be zero tolerance on custodial torture or death and seniors should keep a close coordination with the force for guidance and supervision and for better performance. He also emphasised on using the modern technological developments in investigations like geofencing to further improve police performance. He also directed to improve the accountability and reward and punishment system within force ensuring reward for good performers and punishment for careless. In Darbar IG also heard the problems of the officers and issued immediate directions for their redressal.
