Crackdown continues against felons

As per directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir, for maintaining protection of wealth and lives of people and supremacy of law, crackdown against criminals and anti social elements in all districts of the province is continued on.
In this regard, Chiniot police under supervision of District Police Officer Syed Hussnain Haider achieved landmark success after clutching the necks of criminals during the current month.
DPO Hussnain Haider told that Chiniot police is busy day and night for elimination of crimes and protection of wealth and lives of people is being ensured along with steps being taken for community policing and timely provision of justice to people.
He told that Chiniot police in May took actions against criminals and arrested 138 proclaimed offenders and also arrested more than three hundred accused and recovered huge amount of illegal weapons, theft amount.
According to the details, among 138 proclaimed criminals 08 are of A category whereas 130 are of B category. Likewise, 52 accused have been arrested for having illegal weapons among which 2 Kalashnikov, 04 rifles, 13 guns, 20 pistols, 02 carbine along with bullets have been recovered.
Taking actions against drugs dealers drugs dealers, 60 accused have been arrested after registering 59 cases. The police seized more than 16 kg charas, 4 kg heroin and 1015 litre alcohol and 410 liter lehn with working alcohol manufacturing kilns have been recovered from the accused.
In a crackdown against gambling, 28 accused have been arrested. Likewise, 5 accused who used to give shelter to proclaimed offenders have been arrested.
On overspending, rash driving, cases have been registered against 11 accused and also been arrested. Most wanted accused involved in theft, dacoity, robbery have been arrested and heavy amount of theft, jewelry, motorcycle, domestic luggage have been recovered.
