Shakargarh police using drones to control kite flying

NAROWAL: Police in Shakargarh have started using drone cameras to control kite flying in the city, arrested two persons and registered cases against seven people for selling kites and the material used in it during the last one week. Police also seized more than 2,300 kites and 100 twine rolls and issued warnings to 63 youths and parents of children involved in the banned sport. DSP Shakargarh Malik Muhammad Khalil registered cases against five kite sellers. Chamal Police Station Sub-Inspector Hafiz Asim raided the village Ikhlaspur and seized 900 kites and chemical strings from a kite seller, identified as Rahat Ali. Norkot police raided a site near the bus stop of Norkot town, seized a large number of kites and strings rolls while two suspects, Tariq Ali and Danish Ali, were arrested for selling kites.

City Police Shakargarh seized kites and chemical strings from Muhammad Naseer and Malik Shah Zaman. According to Rescue 1122 sources, 11 youngsters and children were injured during kite flying in Shakargarh tehsil. Shakargarh DSP Malik Muhammad Khalil said police had arrested 63 youths and minors who were flying kites on the roofs of their houses and released them after giving a warning to their parents. He added that police were using drone camera technology to monitor Shakargarh city and its suburbs.
