Two ‘TTP militants’ held with explosives

LAHORE: The Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claims to have defeated a terrorism plan during an intelligence based operation (IBO) conducted in Bahawalpur region. In the operation, the CTD arrested two terrorists affiliated with proscribed organisation Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, a spokesperson said.

He said Rahimyar Khan CTD received information that a suspected militant was present at Chowk Bahadarpur bypass with some bags. A CTD team raided the place and arrested two suspected militants, later identified as Ghulam Rehman Zarar, a resident of Numaish Chorangi, Karachi and Shahid of Badami Bagh, Lahore.

The CTD recovered from them explosive material, safety fuse and detonator and lodged a terrorism cases against them with Multan CTD police station. The CTD spokesperson said more disclosures were expected from them regarding the TTP network in the area.
