BRTS: traffic plan to avoid congestions on roads

LAHORE, July 31: A traffic plan was issued on Tuesday to avoid congestions on various roads because of the ongoing construction work for Bus Rapid Transport System track on Ferozepur Road.

According to a city traffic police spokesman, the traffic flow has increased on Ferozepur Road and its adjoining arteries due to the construction of the track.

Under the plan, the commuters coming from Kasur should use Lahore Ring Road or Motorway to go to Gujranwala.

The traffic coming from Kasur should turn right from Ghazi Road Crossing and run via Bhatta Chowk, Ring Road, Ravi Bridge and then go to Shahdara.

Similarly, those wanting to go to Lahore Railway Station from Kasur, should go to Ghazi Road Crossing and then to Ring Road or to Ichhra Canal Bridge via Dharampura bridge and turn left and use Allama Iqbal Raod to reach their destination.

Whereas commuters going to Kasur via Lahore from Gujranwala/Sheikhupura should turn left from Niazi Chowk and via Ring Road go to Ghazi Road in front of Lahore airport to Ferozpur Road and then to Kasur.

In the same way, citizens can go to Babu Sabu, Thokar Niaz Beg, Canal Bank Road, Shah Di Khoi, and from there to Akbar Chowk, Peco Road to Ferozepur Road. Besides, people can go from New Campus to Barkat R/O, from Kalma Chowk to Ferozepur Road.
And from Azadi Chowk to Railway Station, Shimla Pahari, Canal Bridge and from Upper Mall canal to Gulberge/from cant to Ferozepur Road and then Kasur.

The traffic police are also airing live messages on FM 88.6 Radio to guide the commuters who can also contact the helpline 042-1915 for seeking any related information.
