Extortionists arrested

LAHORE-Two notorious extortionists were arrested by Ghalib Market police on Monday, who had been hurling life threats to a doctor-family of the same area since long.

The arrested accused men were identified as Javed and his accomplice Muhammad Afzal. The City operation police spokesman said that both the accused were intimidating to Dr. Aamir Ali Zaib, a partner of Hameed Latif Hospital, and his sister Kiran. “They were demanding Rs 6 million other wise they may explode the hospital or can kill the entire family,” he added.

Meanwhile, the victim family contacted local police and sought help on which a special team was constituted by SP Model Town Malik Awais, which traced the mobile numbers and ultimately the accused were rounded up on Monday.

After their arrest, where the victim family has appreciated the police performance, the DIG Operations GM Dogar has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the SHO Ghalib Market and his raiding team.
