Suspects held in triple murder case

May 06, 2014

LAHORE: Gulshan-i-Ravi police on Monday took a couple of suspects into custody in connection with triple murders which took place in Rustam Park late on Sunday. Police registered a murder case against 10 suspects and handed over bodies to next of kin after autopsies.

Police investigation showed that suspect Imran of Sherakot and his accomplices entered the house of Amna and shot at and killed 45-year-old Amna, her 18-year-old daughter Sana and Amna’s adopted brother Shahzad Shah, 35. The firing also left Amna’s son Awais injured.

A police investigator told Dawn that Imran was brother of Malik Bagga of Sherakot who was killed by Amna’s brother Zohaib and his accomplices in August 2013.

He said police arrested Zohaib and his two accomplices Muhammad Irfan alias Mota and Ashiq and a court sent them on judicial remand in December last year.

Amna and her family escaped after Bagga’s murder to avoid the wrath of victim’s family and got a house on rent in Rutam Park. On Sunday night, Bagga’s brother Imran after receiving information of their presence reached his rivals’ house to attack them.

The investigator further said Bagga was murdered by Zohaib after the former developed relations with latter’s maternal niece.
