LAHORE: South Cantonment police arrested on Thursday two people wanted in the alleged murder of a woman.
Police said Shahbaz and Khurrum, brothers-in-law of Nabila, were arrested while her husband Khurram Shahzad and mother-in-law were still at large.
Nabila, 25, of Sherakot, married Shehzad, of Haji Park, six months ago. Her family alleged that Nabila was tortured to death by her in-laws.
Investigation In Charge Imtiaz, however, said no mark of torture was found on Nabila. The forensic report will determine the cause of death.
He quoted the arrested suspects as saying that Nabila died of prolonged illness.
