Robbers gang smashed

Nov 06, 2012

BAHAWALPUR, Nov 5: The district police claim to have smashed a gang of robbers and arrested three of its members, wanted in several cases of robbery, murder and abduction.

SP Investigation Azhar Gujjar told the media on Monday those arrested were identified as Nadeem, Nasir and Raashid.

He claimed looted money, illegal weapons and snatched motorcycles were recovered from their possession.

He said the Civil Lines police had registered an FIR against three brothers Kashif, Atif and Basit on charges of killing their sister, Nadia, for ‘honour’ on Sunday.

Kashif in his confessional statement admitted that they had strangled their sister because she had tied a knot with her cousin, Abid, without the consent of the family.
