Robbers’ gang smashed

LAHORE: The North Cantonment police on Monday claimed to have smashed a gang of robbers by arresting its four members who were wanted to the police in several cases of armed robberies. The police have recovered a car, one motorcycle, and 12 batteries of mobile phone towers and cellular phones from their possession.

A police spokesman said that a police team headed by SHO Muhammad Attique Dogar arrested four members of Khari gang during a successful operation. The alleged bandits were identified as Iftikhar, alias Khari, Waris, Ilyas, and Riaz.

During preliminary investigations the bandits have confessed to 25 incidents of street crime including robberies which they had committed in different parts of the provincial capital.

Lahore DIG (Operations) Rana Abdul Jabbar has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police team.–Staff Reporter
