106 gangsters arrested

FAISALABAD, Sept 30: Police claimed on Monday to have arrested 106 criminals of over two dozen gangs involved in highway robbery, dacoity, theft and other crimes of heinous nature and recovered booty worth Rs28 million from them.
 
Regional Police Officer Javeed Islam told reporters that police had recovered 25 motorcycles, 12 cars, 14 transformers, ornaments, cattle, laptops and other items from the arrested criminals. SSP (Operations) Mubashar Maikan, SSP (investigation) Zameerul Haq and other police officials were also present.
 
The RPO said efforts were on to arrest the accomplices of the arrested criminals so that investigation of cases could be completed.
 
Those arrested include Faisal alias Pana of Madina Town, Bashir alias Bashira of Marzipura, Shoaib alias Shebi of Dhudiwala, Azmat of Sialkot (carrying head money of Rs0.2 million), Mushtaq alias Mushi of Nasar Nagar, Rehman alias Mani of Allama Iqbal Colony, Ahtesham Shami of Officer Colony, Munna of Awais Nagar, Bilal alias Bala of Samanabad, Abdullah of Muzaffar Colony, Musarrat alias Murti of Khurrianwala, Nadir alias Billa of Chak 67-JB, Saddi of Chak 620-GB, Bashir of Hussainabad, Zeeshan alias Shani of Samundri Road, Shahid alias Mukhtara of Chak 114, Gulzar of Dhudiwala, Ishfaq alias Chitta of New Multan, Ijaz alias Aju of Chak 104-RB, Riaz of Chak 282-GB and Ashraf alias Ashri of Chak 406-GB, the RPO added.
 
He said the gangsters were arrested by the Chak Jhumra CIA, Batala Colony, D-Type Colony, Factory Area, Samanabad, Sadar, Thekariwala, Garh and other police stations. — Staff Correspondent
