BAHAWALPUR: “We have received intelligence that terrorists have dispatched two vehicles carrying explosives. One of those vehicles was used in the Qissa Khawani Bazaar Peshawar attack, two days ago. The second vehicle could be anywhere,” District Police Officer Sohail Zafar Chattha told police officials at Rahim Yar Khan police line on Monday.

He said a security high alert had been announced in the district. Police stations, check posts and worship places could be targeted, Chattha said. “It falls to the police to foil the terrorists’ nefarious plans,” he said, “We must focus all our energy and resources towards this end.”

All entrances and exits to the district would be monitored and policemen had been deployed at all government buildings, worship places and public areas, he said.
