Two members of defunct outfit killed in encounter

DG Khan: Police claim that two members of a defunct organization were killed in firing by their own men during an encounter with law enforcers in mountainous area of Sakhi Sarwar, some 30kms from here, on Wednesday.

A spokesman for district police told media persons that police recovered a suicide jacket, hand grenades, rifles and other material used in terrorist activities.

He said the police got an information that defunct outfit Al Ahrar had a training camp in the mountainous area and that militants were planning to carry out a terrorist attack in Dera Ghazi Khan.

He said a police team raided there but militants opened fire which was retaliated.

They said the two militants, Safdar and Karim Nawaz were killed by firing by their own men who managed to escape in mountains.

They claimed that both killed militants belonged to Wahowa, Taunsa Sharif tehsil, and were involved in terrorist activities.
