Two terror suspects arrested

Bahawalpur: The police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two terrorism suspects and recovered 6kg explosives, two pistols, 13 rounds, two eclectic circuits, two detonators and two wire coils, District Police Officer Sohail Zafar Chattha told newsmen that the suspects were planning an attack on the railway attack and were believed to be members of the Baloch Republican army.

He said on Tuesday evening, the police received a tip-off that two people were plotting a bomb attack on a railway track near Walhaar railway crossing. He said police found the men digging a hole along the railway track. He said when the men saw the police party, they tried to flee but were arrested. He said they had been identified as Muhammad Riaz and Peerakh, residents of Dera Bugtiā€™s tehsil Sui. He said during investigation, they had confessed that they were trying to attack the railway track by fixing explosives there.
