Peace plan
Lahore CCPO Shafique Ahmad has said that the cooperation between the police and the people is of paramount importance for maintaining an atmosphere of peace and tranquility as well as foiling the nefarious designs of terrorists during Ramazanul Mubarak.
He directed that consultation and assistance of trading community should be given due importance in the implementation of security plan in markets and business centers.
According to a press release, he was addressing office-bearers of various trade organizations at police lines today. DIG Operations Muhammad Tahir Rae SSP Operations Dr. Rizwan as well as all SPs, SP security & SP Headquarters are also present on the occasion. Addressing traders’ representatives, CCPO said that police has evolved a comprehensive security plan within its resources for providing security cover in all markets and business centers and efficient and alert police personnel are being deputed for this purpose. He made an appeal to the traders to extend all out cooperation for the installation and maintenance of CCTV cameras in markets and business centers. He said that a focal person among the office bearers should be appointed in each market for maintaining contact with police in any emergency.
DIG Operations Muhammad Tahir Rae said that he and SSP Operations will personally visit business and trade centers of the city on daily basis while all divisional SP’s will maintain a regular contact with the representatives of business community of important markets and trade centers. He said that the concerned DSP and SHO will be directly responsible for ensuring foolproof checking of visitors and for this purpose they should acquire assistance of the office bearers of trader’s organizations. The CCPO directed CTO to depute additional police officials for maintaining a smooth flow of traffic in important markets and business centers of the city during Ramazan. Office-bearers of Anjuman-e- Tajran Shah Alam pointed out that incidents of decoity increase at the time of aftari upon which the CCPO directed DIG Operations to assign additional police force for patrolling Shah Alam bazar at aftar.
