JHANG-The Jhang Police have succeeded in rounding up 142 proclaimed offenders during the month of October of which 15 were involved in murder, dacoity, highway robbery and other cases of heinous nature.
DPO Rao Abdul Karim while providing detail, in formed that during the same period 30 court absconders and 29 army deserters were also arrested.
One inter-district gang involved in murder, dacoity and highway robberies, was busted by the Jhang Police, he added.
He said that under Illegal Arms Possession Act, 95 cases were registered and the accused were arrested while two Kalashnikovs, 8 rifles, 15 guns, 67 pistols / revolvers, 5 carbines and 295 cartridges were recovered from their possession.
The DPO further told that under Narcotics Act, a total 139 cases were registered and 9.275kg heroin, 13.660kg charas, 425 bottle of liquor was recovered and six working stills were also unearthed.
