SPs directed to identify crime pockets

Feb 12, 2014

LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer Chauhdry Shafique during a meeting pressed all divisional SPs for identifying crime pockets in their respective divisions and enhance patrolling in those pockets during peak hours.

The CCPO had to pass on the fresh directive following a spate of robberies and thefts in the provincial metropolis.

He directed the SPs to patrol these areas during peak hours and regularly monitor if patrolling by Muhafiz and Tiger squads was taking place effectively.

He ordered to personally visit the scene of any heinous crime as well as the incident of dacoity and monitor the performance of the Mohafiz Squad.

He said the posting tenure of Mohafiz Squad officials in a police station should not be more than one year.

The CCPO made it clear to SPs that he would not even spare them if he received any complaint regarding drug peddling and running of gambling dens in their jurisdictions.

He said any station house officer who failed to control crime and redress complaints of people had no right to stay as field officer. He also directed all SPs of the investigation wing to investigate all heinous crime cases and proclaimed offenders personally.
