LAHORE – A notorious mobile-snatcher gang comprising three members has been nabbed in Defense (A) police area on Sunday. Police have also recovered cell phones, illegal firearms and looted money from their possession. As per detail, following special directives of SP Cantonment Syed Hashmat Kamal, a police team comprising SPO Defense Fida Hussain, SHO Defense Sheikh Hammad Akhtar and other constables, raided a den and busted Shafaqoo mobile snatcher gang, its ringleader Ashfaq alias Shafaqoo and one of his accomplices Mohammad Hussain alias Adnan. The third man, however, managed to escape from the scene. According to the modus operandi, the bandits used rented motorbikes to commit felony acts.
The dacoits have confessed to commit around 17 such felony acts, by saying they had been involved in many of the crimes happened in Defense A & B, Cantonment, Ghaziabad, Mustafabad, Sarwar Road, Factory Area, Gulberg and Ghalib Market police precincts. Further investigations are underway.
