Sargodha: The district police claimed to have arrested 18 people, including a woman, in separate raids on Wednesday, and seized heavy quantity of narcotics and weapons from them. Police said eight people were arrested for carrying narcotics.
They were identified as Muhammad Akhtar of Sheller Colony, Muhammad Shahbaz of Chak 74-SB, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Asad of Jhal Chakian, Aliya Bibi of Mateela, Robin Masih of Chak 44, Fayaz Ahmed and Saqib Abbas. Police said they recovered 4,332 grams of heroin and hashish from them.
Separately, police said they arrested Muhammad Akbar, Abid Ali, Ahmed Nawaz, Ghulam Mustafa, Muhammad Ashraf, Bashir Ahmed, Ghulam Abbas, Abdul Rauf, Mudassar Naveed and Yaqoob Ali. They recovered two guns, six pistols, one rifle, one rifle (0.222 bore) and a 7mm rifle from them.
