10 gangs of robbers busted

Faisalabad, Sep 12: District police have busted 10 gangs of robbers with the arrest of 32 accused and seized booty of Rs12 million, including vehicles, motorcycles, cattle and gold ornaments.

City Police Officer Rai Tahir said Samundari City police arrested five people of Abdul Jabbar and Waqas gangs and traced out 14 cases in the last 10 days.

Bahalak police arrested 11 robbers of Aslam, Husaini and Mola gangs and seized cattle, ornaments, cash and vehicles. The police station traced 30 cases of different nature.

Similarly, Tarkhani police busted Tariq gangs, Millar Town and Batala Colony police arrested Saifi and Zeeshan gangs and People’s Colony police traced two gangs of car thieves.

He said the car thieves had been operating in different cities of Punjab and selling stolen vehicles to a man identified as Haji Pathan in tribal areas. The gangs confessed to having stolen vehicles from 14 different areas.

He said interrogation of both gangs was under way.
