LAHORE: Police claimed on Monday they had arrested 158 people for robbery, robbery-cum-murder and theft and seized illegal weapons and valuables worth Rs40 million from them.
According to a news release, they had arrested 158 members of 62 gangs, including Usman, Irfan, alias Munna, Aijaz, alias Jajji, Usman, alias Shani, Sultan, alias Sain, Rashid, alias Rashi, Asif, Abid, Shoaib, Amjad, Imran, Tanveer, Majeed, Owais, Tippu, Ali Hasan and Nadeem.
Police are working to recover motorcycles, cars and other valuables stolen in the city.
Special Anti-vehicle lifting teams were constituted to break the network of gunmen involved in car, motorcycle theft cases.
