Police claim to have arrested a gang of highway robbers on Monday after an encounter near Behlpur area of the Jalalpur Jattan Sadar precincts. DPO Rai Ijaz Ahmad told reporters robbers had snatched a tractor-trolley from Tariq of Tanda while a CIA police team chased them after receiving information.
He said the robbers opened fire on police which was returned that caused injuries to one of robbers, Naeem Riaz, of Sialkot. Later, the police arrested all five robbers and took the snatched trolley, two bikes and weapons into its possession. The DPO announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for the police party.
