GUJRANWALA: The police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested 40 notorious proclaimed offenders and recovered arms and narcotics from them besides impounding 200 vehicles during a general hold-up.
Regional Police Officer Ahmad Mubarik Ahmad told reporters the Sialkot police arrested 21 absconders and seized half a dozen pistols, two rifles, a carbine and 800 gram hashish from them, while the Gujrat district police impounded about 200 vehicles.
He announced the cash prize and commendation certificates for members of raiding teams of both districts.
