Crackdown on drug pushers ordered

LAHORE: CAPITAL City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir, who is also Chairman of Lahore Drug Free City Project, has directed intensification of crackdown on drug peddlers, so that Lahore City can be saved from the curse of narcotics.

He was talking to Anti Narcotics Force Project Director Altaf Qamar and Force Commander Shahid Afzal in a high level meeting held on Wednesday.

He said that enforcement teams had been constituted which were working under the supervision of SP, SHO, ANFHC, Excise Inspector and drug Inspector to eliminate drug dens in the provincial metropolis.

He said the Lahore Police, during the last 11 months from January to November, had registered about 9,898 cases, arrested 10,315 drug pushers and recovered 339 kg heroine, 1,146 kg chars and 65,745 bottles of liquor from their possession.
