109-year-old retired constable pays IGP a visit

LAHORE- Mirza Fatheh Mohammad, a 109-year-old retired head constable, met Police Punjab Inspector General (IG) Javed Iqbal on Tuesday in his office to pay his regards and offer felicitations.

Mirza Fatheh Mohammad was born in Mudhki, District Ferozepur (British India) in 1902 and joined the Indian Police in 1924 at a salary of Rs 17 per month. His first boss was SSP J Scott. After independence, he moved to Pakistan and served as an orderly with Pakistan’s first IG Qurban Ali Khan for 18 years.

When he retired on November 5, 1965, Mohammad was serving as head constable in the Crime Investigation Agency, Okara.
