CCPO for intensifying crackdown against POs

LAHORE-CCPO directed the City Police to intensify the crackdown launched against proclaimed offenders in order to rid the society of crime and criminal elements.

According to an official statement issued here on Wednesday, during the last 10 months from January 2011 to October, Lahore Police had arrested 19,568 Pos and 12,275 Court Absconders (CAs), Who were wanted in 623 cases of murder, 542 cases of attempted murder, 582 cases of dacoities, 1,474 cases of robbery,  2,243 of theft and 14,104 other cases. Around 12,275 CAs, who were wanted in 26 cases of murder, 144 cases of attempted murder, 42 cases of dacoities, 261 cases of robbery, 650 cases of theft, were also arrested, whereas 11,152 CAs involved in other cases had also been nabbed.

CCPO said that Lahore Police had only a single point agenda of eradicating, eliminating and uprooting the scourge crime and vanquishing gangs involved in heinous crimes, so that the citizens could live in a peaceful atmosphere.
