Three female robbers arrested

RAWALPINDI - Police arrested a three-member female dacoits gang along with its ringleader here from Qasimabad Stop on Monday.

The arrest was made when the suspects were planning to rob some women, a police official who was part of raiding team said. The accused female robbers were identified as Chandi, Tania (both young girls aging between 21 to 23 years old) and Sabiha, said to be gang leader. All belonged to Akora Khattak, Nowshera.

Police also recovered two stolen gold bangles and a cutter, which they used to cut jewellery from the arms of women, from their possession. Police registered a case against them and put them in lock-up in Women Police Station, Civil Line.

According to Jamil, Naib Moherer of Police Station Naseerabad, police raided at Qasimabad Stop on a tip-off provided by Naila Bibi wife of Asad Javed, resident of Suraj Gali, Haripur, and arrested the three female robbers. He said that the robbers looted two gold bangles from Naila Bibi. Later, a case has been registered against the three female robbers of the complaint of the victim woman.

Meanwhile, police found a dead body of an unknown man from Nullah Leh and shifted it to DHQ Hospital for autopsy. Police said that the deceased was a drug addict whose identification could not be ascertained.

Meanwhile, a car-washer thwarted a dacoity bid on Mall Road in Saddar when four armed robbers tried to snatch Rs 400,000 from a citizen Habib. People, gathered there, managed to catch a robber and handed him over to police after subjecting him to severe torture.

However, the other three robbers managed to escape from the scene. Police filed a case and started investigation.
