LAHORE-On the directive of the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, mutual cooperation and constant link between Turkish and Punjab Police was continuing to combat terrorism in the province and for this purpose various projects were underway to benefit each others in expertise and technology.
The Inspector General of Police Punjab Javed Iqbal stated this while addressing a reception in honour of a five-member Turkish delegation headed by the Ahmet PEK Director General of Turkish National Police here on Monday at Police Headquarters.
Faith Inalkac, Yavuz Ozdemir, Ertugrul Senyigit, Engine Yilmaz, Remzi Guney were the members of the visiting distinguished delegation. IGP said that CM Punjab had visited Turkey in 2010. Turkey has been facing Terrorism since many decades and due to its strong determination, faith and utilisation of modern technology, it combated terrorism, effectively. We, therefore, should utilise Turkish experience, skill and abilities in this regard, the IGP stressed.
Provincial Police Chief said that 28 police officers, who got training in combating terrorism, handling of drugs and methods of law enforcement from Turkey were diligently performing their duties in various sections of the Punjab Police.
IGP further said that elimination of terrorism in the province was his top priority. Addressing on this occasion Director General Turkish National Police Ahmet PEK assured his full cooperation and all support to Punjab Police.
Guard of honour was presented by a smartly turned out contingent of Punjab Police on the arrival of Turkish Visiting delegation a PHQ. On this occasion, Additional IG (R&D) Malik Khuda Bukhsh Awan briefed the delegation about the working of the Punjab Police.
Punjab Police Chief presented Punjab Police souvenir to the guests. Senior Police officers were also present on this occasion. Earlier, on its arrival at Lahore Airport the delegation was received by Addl. IG Training Sarmad Saeed.
