Police flag march shows Muharram preparedness

BAHAWALNAGAR - The district police under the supervision District Police Officer Abdul Hamid Khosa arranged a flag-march to show preparedness for Muharram security and send a message to anti-social elements to desist from subversive activities during the holy month.

The march which was also joined in by teams of Rescue 1122 team, Health Department, Civil Defence, TMA and the Mepco, started from Police Lines and passed through main roads of the town.

Speaking on the occasion, the DPO said that flag-march aimed at making the public feel a sense of protection and security and exhibiting the police preparedness.

He claimed that a comprehensive security plan had been chalked out for Muharram as 2,000 police personnel guard processions and Majalis during Ashura-e-Muharram.

He said that the law enforcement agencies were on red alert and surveillance of processions routes would be carried out on scientific lines.

He declared that pillion riding would be banned on 9th and 10th of Muharram.
