KASUR: Ganda Singh police on Thursday registered a case against three suspects, including a school teacher, and arrested them in connection with the rape of a minor maid.
On the orders of the Joint Investigation Team, police registered the case under section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act, 376, 386, 387, and 293 of Pakistan Penal Code.
According to complainant Manzoor Ahmed of Husain Khanwala, his daughter ‘R’ had been living at the house of school teacher ‘Ar’ as a maid. Manzoor said ‘Ar’ had also been teaching his daughter.
He said in 2011 when ‘R’ was in class-IX, teacher allegedly raped her and also made some objectionable snaps on the cell phone of the girl. Later, the suspect had been raping her, threatening to expose the pictures.
The FIR said two co-suspects ‘Ib’ (a confectioner at Husain Khanwala) and As’ (manager of village cold store owned by the teacher) had been blackmailing the girl and extorted Rs0.4 million from the teacher for reconciliation.
Later, the co-suspects got signatures and thumb impressions of the complainant on an affidavit.
The complainant said he was unaware as to what was written in the affidavit. He said the co-suspects gave him Rs80,000 to keep mum.
The girl appeared before the JIT which ordered registration of case.
Police have arrested the teacher, the confectioner and cold storage manager and recovered affidavit.
This correspondent learnt that the confectioner and store manager mediated between the complainant and the main suspect and gave Rs80,000 to the victim family. The girl’s father produced Rs80,000 to police as evidence.
Ganda Singh police registered another case against five suspects, including Mobeen Ghaznavi (leader of the victims in the scandal), under section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act, 376, 386, 387 and 293 of PPC without any arrest.
According to complainant Abdul Rasheed the suspects had been raping his nephew ‘Ai’ and blackmailing him. The ‘victim’ is also in jail in the child abuse case.
