LAHORE: Lahore traffic police on Tuesday said that they have chalked out a comprehensive plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the busy roads on the occasion of by-elections which are to be held on August 22.

A police spokesman said that the traffic plan has been approved by the Chief Traffic Officer(CTO) Sohail Chaudhary to ensure proper flow of traffic outside the polling stations, election commission office, returning officer’s offices, and other busy roads to avoid any traffic mess.

As per the traffic police plan, at least two officers of the rank of SP, seven DSPs, 51 inspectors and 653 traffic wardens would be deployed on the identified points under the district supervisions of the Lahore CTO.

Sohail Chaudhry also said that city traffic police radio station (FM 88.6) would remain functional on August 22 and citizens can get information about the traffic situation on the road from the helpline 0421915 as well.
