Kidnapped man recovered

RAWALPINDI: The city police on Monday recovered an abducted person from and arrested two kidnappers during a raid at a house in the limits of Police Station (PS) Hazro Attock.
 
According to the police, the kidnappers had picked up a Saudi-returned citizen Safeer Ahmed son of Akbar Khan from the precincts of Chowky Hameedan, controlled by PS Naseerabad, and demanded Rs 2 million as ransom from the family of the victim. Taking action, City Police Officer (CPO) Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalayka formed a special team under the surveillance of SSP (Operations) Mian Maqbool taking them to arrest the kidnappers and recover the detainee.
 
SHO Naseerabad Chaudhry Jamil, while talking to The Nation on Monday, said that Safeer Ahmed, abducted from the area of Chokwy Hameedan on 5/1/14, case of which was registered with PS Naseerabad. He said that the detainee was recovered during a police action on a house located at Attock. He said that the relatives of Safeer received a phone call from the kidnappers demanding Rs 2 million ransom. The kidnappers had threatened Safeer if they failed to pay the amount, the SHO added.
 
He also said that the police teams and the technical experts traced the location of the phone call, raided the site and recovered the detainee. The police also arrested two kidnappers who identified as Niaz and Taj Wali.–Staff Reporter
