Police launch operation

LAHORE – The police have launched search operations in different parts of the provincial metropolis to keep a check on the suspected elements ahead of the Eid Miladun Nabi, officials said on Monday. The security has also been stepped up across the City, according to police sources. The police are put on high-alert across the Punjab province, following Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Khan Baig sent a circular to all the police heads to ensure foolproof security on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi.  The police are directed to step up search operation in the sensitive localities besides ensuring proper checking of the hotels, inns, bus stands and other important places. The police have also intensified snap-checking on all the entry and exit points of the city to keep a vigilant eye on the movement of the suspected elements.
