Police launched a crackdown on kite sellers and claimed to have recovered 2,229 kites and related material besides arresting five kite sellers.

According to a press release issued by the Gujrat police, the crackdown was launched on the direction of DPO Ali Nasir Rizvi in various parts of the district.

It said seven cases against kite traders were registered in Rehmania, A Division, Dinga and Jalalpur Jattan city police stations. Five accused were also taken into custody.
